Curriculum Expectations
Supplies Assignments



Curriculum: We use our time together daily to work on writing skills, grammar skills, spelling, vocabulary enhancement, and reading skills. We attempt to learn to speak and write in a manner that is fluent, acceptable, and grammatically correct.  We will correlate our activities to the Tennessee language arts curriculum standards in order to prepare for Terra Nova, high school, and the world at large.

Supplies:
Each student will need loose leaf paper (not college-ruled, please)
pencils (preferably mechanical)
highlighters of at least three colors
several sticky notes pads
a 5 subject spiral notebook
tape
index cards
glue stick or glue
pack of construction paper


Supply wish list:
box of kleenix or paper towels




  • Each student shall demonstrate:

    R  Responsibility ( have materials, stop talkling; be ready to begin at bell)

    E  Effort (do your work completely and to the best of your ability)

    S Self-restraint (keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself)

    P Participation and preparation

    E  Enthusiasm (raise your hand; pay attention)

    C Cooperation and courtesty.  (follow directions when given the first time)

    T  Trustworthiness (be honest and respectful)

Homework is not assigned in reading.  Classwork that was begun, but not finished should be considered as homework.  Don't forget three book reports each quarter are due at the end of the nine weeks.
